« on: March 28, 2019, 09:46:32 PM »

Added Master Volume
Replaced PU selector
Replaced bridge saddles
Replaced nut with adjustable nut
Added threaded inserts for backplate
Replaced Q switches
1/4 inch output rewired to be mono

Looks great, Jack... what a classic! You should be good for another 40 years now.  :)

Wow that's really nice, that bridge looks shiny now... beautiful! I might consider that!
The bass player’s function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car… everything else is merely colours.

Must have been hard to be without your bass while it was in California but the results will be well worth it. Big fan of adding a master volume to a Series I bass and the rest of the upgrades are basic common sense things, nice to be able to give it a super-spa treatment and new lease on life. Enjoy!

Yea, but for every recording gig I had during this time, no session went by without going through my Alembic SF2+F1X, so I was still getting an Alembic sound when my bass was not here. But nothing beats the real deal!

The master volume I added mainly is so that I can do swell endings on the many a pop tunes I play. ;D

Jack,

There's something great about giving new life to an older bass.  This wood has been vibrating together for many years.  Now the upgraded electronics should make it really sing.  The master volume is just part of making it your own.  Having the best tools for the job is a joy.

It's great that you were able to do this for the instrument.  And I believe you will enjoy the results!

You KNOW you're on the right track when Jimmy J says you're doing the right thing. Ah look, he's blushing. It's OK Jimmy, don't be bashful :)
