Thank you. I think that the first owner didn’t play this bass for long. He was a collector or something like that. The frets and the fingerboard doesn’t have a scratch. I’m sure that it is cause of the incredible constructive quality of alembic basses. There was the protective charter on the backplate yet, it was a challenge remove it after thirty years..the glue was dry and I had to use nail polish remover..

I had to laugh a bit, when I read about your trouble getting the back plate loose.  On my '09, which I bought new...I had the same problem!  I just used a little masking tape to lift off the plate which had also gotten a bit stuck after only a few months!!

Congratulations for giving that beautiful base a home and a life! I recently got an unused 20+ year old Epic, mint condition, so I understand that kind of joy. Yes, they're beautiful instruments and I can stare at mine for many long moments, but they're made to be played!
