Elan original hardshell case
« on: February 26, 2019, 04:13:27 PM »
Hello everyone, I would like to buy an original hard case for my new Elan bass that I bought on the second hand market with a non-original gigbag. I found this, but it's for an epic 5. The price is high and I want to be sure it's suitable for my bass. I hope someone can help me.
Is it worth it? Would it increase the value of my bass? Does any of you have an original case that can fit an Elan, in the European Union?

Thanks in advance .. and I'm sorry for my bad english.

The Elan is an easy bass to get a case to fit well. Try it out in cases made for Jazz basses and you should do good. You can get an Elan case from us new, but shipping to Italy will be crazy expensive. I don't think the Epic case will be a good fit, and I don't believe it will affect the value of your bass, but I'm no expert in used values. Just get a good sturdy case that the bass doesn't wiggle around in and you will keep it well protected.

Thanks for this good advice. I will look for a generic Hardshell case.
Have a nice day.

i have a teardrop style case for my elan. It fits quite snugly. In fact it was the non original case that came with Short Scale Signature bass.
Hiscox cases made in the UK are really good I had one for a guitar years back and it was solid. As Mica says something like a Jazz bass case may be suitable for an elan so one of these may worth checking out.

I doubt if a non original case would have any detriment on the value of the bass at all. Unless maybe you are a collector wanting to keep everything as original as possible. But I presume your primary need is to have something that keeps your bass safe.

Thank you Jazzyvee, I’ll buy a non original hardshell case, like thomann case or something like that. Maybe in the  little neighborhood shop. Yes,  i must admit..I’m a fanatic of original details !!
