It looks like it has a Blaster,  is that what he is calling the pre-amp?

I suspect so.  I can faintly see writing on the jack plate that may say Alembic.  The same with the middle pickup.
This isn't my listing, I just spotted it on my daily MGR search.

Definitely an original style Stratoblaster.  I don't see anything on the pickup, but your monitor may be clearer than mine.

While the Blaster plate looks like the original version with the engraved ALEMBIC name, I think the pickup may be a Hi-A, as we never had a decoration across the middle of the pickup.

Is there any benefit to having the electronics but not using Alembic pickups? Should someone snap this up?

The only thing "Alembic" about this guitar is the Stratoblaster.  A brand new one, direct from Alembic, is $109.
