Hey Folks,I am struggling with this decision. I recently purchased an amazing 79' Series I. I was able to get the following info from Mica via email: "There is an invoice from 2010
where we did an RF upgrade and did a complete refinish.""  and we did fix the peghead in 2006. We
also glued in a loose inlay (invoice doesn't indicate which one)" Also has Red Led's.This is the best sounding of all the Alembics I have ever played. I am coming up on 58 yrs old and the long scale is problematic for my hands, shoulders and neck.
I am hoping to trade for a short or medium scale Series I of equal value. The main thing that matters to me is the neck being straight with working truss along with RF upgrade. This bass has power supply and brand new cable.

I am still looking for a trade. Love this bass but at 57 yrs old I need to get a short scale Series I. I have some live soundclips I can hook you up with.Don't let the headstock repair scare you off...all the work was done by Alembic.

It has been explained to me that the head-stock repair significantly lowers the value of the bass. I am open to offers along with me adding cash to any trade prospects.

I am looking to get $4500 for my Series I. Now fees and I will split shipping.

Hi Craig, i can see why that bass would be hard to let go it’s a beauty. As for the headstock repairs, you may or may not know that alembic have a history of repairing those kind of bass injuries before they started making their own instruments, and it’s one of the reasons the point became part of the design for the body on their basses. It was to encourage musicians to use stands. From my years on the forum i get the feeling that existing owners are less concerned about buying damaged headstock basses like yours when the repair has been done by alembic themselves.

But i sincerely hope you get your custom build.  When you get some ideas, the “Dreaming for now “ section is great place to hash them out. However i confess that after years of ownership i still can’t finalise a custom specification for myself. I still live in hope 😇
