Rick-a-lembic?
« on: December 31, 2018, 04:55:43 PM »
Saw this for sale at: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/alembic-custom-elan-left-handed-166085955

I wonder if the cut was made by Alembic or aftermarket.

I remember this from a thread a few years ago, it was built this way at the mothership. IIRC there's purpleheart showing from the inside. Cool bass, unfortunate in that it's a lefty (unless you're a lefty yourself).

Interesting bass. Looks more like a Charvel Surfcaster/ Alembic bass, with that slash in the body.

This was a custom order an Kris worked very hard on that cat-eye cut out. The interior is actually Purpleheart and has a full finish and complete gloss rub-out. The hole is bound in Purplehart and Ebony - it looks amazing and it was JUST before I started taking tons of pictures. Boo hoo. Very very nice bass

As a lefty Alembic fan and player, I have admired this bass for years.  I believe it was sold only a few years ago.
I would love to be the next keeper, however... I will continue to admire from afar...
