(x) 1983 Spoiler History Request [83S2862]

I saw this bass for sale in a bass store in Taipei today and would like to know the history behind it. The store owner said he purchased this bass from Japan a couple of years ago.
The electronics has been swapped out for some kind of Alembic preamp (non-filter). It feels like its Volume, Pan, Bass Boost/Cut, Mid Boost/Cut.

Any info is appreciated, thanks!
