It'd almost be worth the $1000 to CSI this one. I think the headstock hole corresponds to the brass plate thingy on the front face of it, but I still got nuthin' for why... scarf joint reinforcement, reimagined? Hard to say. The pickguard screwholes irritate me more... I guess because there's more of 'em, and they'll be harder to hide.

*for the record, I was looking for the stolen zebrawood Distillate... when this poor thing popped up. ;D

I'm guessing the hole in the back corresponds to the strap button by the tailpiece; why the they decided the latter worked & the former had to go, I'm clueless (well, OK, if I were to be unkind, I'd perhaps suggest that I am not, in fact, the clueless one in this equation.....)

And I fear to imagine what the faux TRC hides; given the overall state of the instrument, mayhap someone decided it needed a set-up and went excavating for the adjustment nut?

I saw this one this morning as well on eBay . I see many " RED FLAGS " on this one . The RED FLAG  that I find concerning to a large extent is that thing over the string nut . What is the function of that ? The seller should be willing to disclose what that is in all fairness  . Perhaps I shall inquire.  I shall be watching closely for description updates as well :)

Somebody buy it and sell me the Musicman pickup for a reasonable cost. I need one for a project I am working on.

I'm thinking about making an offer... this one needs to be saved, and I believe there is enough here to save. The woodwork required is within my means, and the electronics look to be intact other than the missing bridge AXY. Like I really need another project right now!  ::)  Still... a birdseye maple Distillate-in-distress... c'mon, I gotta' try to save it!  ;D

I have made several attempts to contact the seller visa the eBay message system and it will not let me send the seller a message without me making an offer this time . This has never happened before . I would like to gain disclosure of what the strange cover over the string nut is hiding . Has anyone else made any contact attempts ? Let's find out what that cover is hiding :)

I think you have to click 'Contact seller' , then check the 'other' box under "select a topic".
That will bring you to a text box you can ask specific questions in.

Hope that helps,

I have done this many times before with other potential  transactions . This time it is forcing me to make an offer in the process . It appears that the ebay system is trying to block me from a potential transaction outside of eBay . I was not attempting that at all .

Gotcha,
Ebay sure has an increasing amount of loops we have to jump through.
