WTB: Series I, small body, 32" scale
« on: November 26, 2018, 08:41:56 AM »
WTB: Series I, small body, 32" scale ...preferably late-1970s/early-1980s (but would consider any year), ideally in Very Good or better condition [edit: but I don't have a problem with ~30 years worth of honest wear & tear], definitely all original parts, no obvious modifications, defects, or damage.

Would also consider a Series II if it met all those other criteria.

Holy Grail? Needle In A Haystack? Anything I need to look out for?  Thanks.

Keep looking as they are out there.   I have 2 of them.   The medium scales are my favorite.

Here’s a Series II short scale

Tempting, especially since I'm a huge fan of Padauk (aka Vermillion). But I really do want a 32" scale length.

Perhaps this could whet your whistle? Not a S1, but it is a relatively small bodied bass with 32" scale and signature electronics.

Fascinating! ...but not fascinating enough to be a fulfilling substitute for my Wanted & Wishing pipe dream!  Thanks.

I agree Bob, when you want the right dream series bass, nothing else comes close. All the best with the searching and as with many things alembic, patience is a virtue.
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Well... in my defense, I didn't know what the asking price would be when I posted... gotta' admit though, I hit a ringer. You said find you a medium-scale small body - there it is.  ;D

I'll spot another... gimme' a while.  ;)
