This place is an oasis where i can hide from all the horrible crappy news out there.
I'm more and more grateful for this community every time i make the mistake of looking at cnn or reading a paper or seeing the junk my FB friends post.
Thanks for my safe haven!!

Music can have a healing power.  For each of us, the particular songs that touch us deeply may be different; but we here all know that deep connection.  There's more to life than the petty dramas within which so many people get trapped.  Music brings an invitation to open ourselves to something more meaningful; to open to something that touches the soul.

We do not have to let those things that divide, hurt, and anger control our lives.  Our time on this earth goes by quickly; and it seems better spent sharing, helping, and bringing joy into each others lives.

I too feel grateful that this community is here.  And what I get from being here, I hope I can then share with others that I meet each day.

Slowly, one greeting at a time, one smile at a time, one song at a time, we do change the world.

Other than this forum, and TalkBass, I tend to avoid all other forms of social media, and the internet in general. I find this place to be especially welcoming. It's often the first place I check in in the morning, and the last page I close at night. I like the recommendation, that we treat it as if we're guests at the Wickershams living room.

And I thought this was going to be a thread about former Alembic employee Gary Cooper's Oasis guitars!

But yea, this forum is quite unique - first place I visit on-line each morning.

Well said. I'm not on here very often, however, I've always been met with kindness and help when I've asked for it. Great group of people. And of course, I'm holding my Elan 5 while I type this! I was away from it for a couple of days (my son and I went on a quick road trip to VT to celebrate his 20th birthday).
