Hello Mica,

Since 1992 I own this special Elan-Bass, which I love and appreciate. Now I would be interested in the history of the bass and its specifications. I hope you can help me with this. The electronics were extended by 3Q-Schitch. Thanks in advance,
Frank

Hallo gearhed289,
I think it's an Anniversary electronics, too, which I've come to expect from two 3Q switches. It's a great bass!

What an amazing bass. I love Elans and with that electronics package that should get you some superb tones. Smart move by the person who ordered it like that and well done for getting hold of that one.

Here's the list of the specs from the instrument file. It appears that some things have changed since the bass was made:

top: Figured Maple
body: Maple
neck: 3-piece Maple
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: PJ
controls: Signature (appears to have changed)
finish: Clear green (appears to have changed)
originally made for: not recorded
birthday: not recorded

This file has scant details, but if the photos are close in color, then it looks to be more of the Caribbean Blue color we did at the time and was popular on Elan and Europa basses. The electronics seemed to have been upgraded beyond the 3-position Q switches, which I have made a note of in the file now.

Hello Mika,

Thanks for the great information.
I am sorry that I will contact you now. I am always happy to play this great bass. Only the Q-Schitch has changed, in triple, otherwise the bass is absolutely in the original state. The photos may distort the color a bit. He is green and nothing was changed about that. I've seen almost the same bass in the forum as well, five-bit, just with a different electronics. But I was very happy to hear about the history of my bass. At this point, many greetings to you and the great team, what makes these unique instruments.

Frank
