I only got as far as installing the B string on my Alembic Elan 5 and remembered that I don't really care much for these strings. No offense to Alembic - I do love your basses!
I cut the end off of the B and it was wound around the post for maybe 2 minutes. The other strings have not been removed from the packaging. I bought them for $56 from Rocket Music (shipping included). I'll sell the pack for $30 + shipping to anywhere in the CONUS.
