That's cool.  I just posted this thing as I had never seen one with plates as interfaces before, and also the Bob Moog connection.  $1,600 seemed a little steep to a layman.

I have one of the newer models (antenna, no plates). It certainly wasn't $1600.

Do y'all think this is just an attempt to cash in on the Moog name and the fact that there will never be any other Dr. Robert Moog designed products, or is someone just fishing the market too aggressively? 

Can it make toast, waffles, or grilled cheese sandwiches, do you think?  Is that why it costs $1,600?

The new ones are a nice improvement, and are a lot cheaper. They are also a lot easier to play, and have some nice programs. I had it hooked up to my other Moogs for sampling effects, but has a speaker for stand alone output.

Dude, you are brilliant.  My wife comes from a very musical family, but her sister has a 30-year-old heretofore undiagnosed developmental disorder, and she shows great interest in keys/strings and loves music, showing an appreciation for it, but she lacks the coordination to play these instruments.

Fortunately, she can feed herself, write her name, employ skills for self-maintenance, etc., so hopefully with that degree of dexterity, and based on your comment, a Theramin might be a great way for her to enjoy making the music that is likely in her genes and be a positive force in her life.

Thanks Zut! It is heart warming to see someone unable to communicate, express themselves through music. Big smiles all around. The new Theremini can step through notes, as well as glide. All that is required is moving your hand around to the vertical antenna. The horizontal rounded one is volume, or expression. I watched little  kids enjoy playing with it, so why not someone disadvantaged? I hope great success in your efforts. Good on ya!

I appreciate the suggestion of the lil' Theramin, Joe.  I think it would be really cool for her to have so long as it doesn't meet with an accident.  But, we'll see what her family says; and yet...they can't say "no" forever.
