Can Anyone Identify These Alembic Electronics?
« on: May 18, 2018, 07:20:19 AM »
Hello!  I have a single-pickup 98 Excel that includes the following electronics in the case.  I've been keeping these in a shielded bag for years and am now curious about them.  I'm not even sure if they were bought with the bass or acquired afterwards.  Someone suggested that this may be a "midrange" switch.  Thanks in advance for your help!!

This is a low-pass filter and Q-switch. The date code indicates is 10 years newer than the bass. You can install it in place of the bass and treble controls, which is reversible, or you if there's room in the cavity you can add it to the existing controls with a small connection harness and of course drilling two additional holes.

Thanks, Mica!  I appreciate the detailed response.  I love the bass just the way it is and will leave it well-enough alone.

So, if someone out there is interested in a low-pass filter and Q-switch just message me and I'll be happy to ship it out to someone who can use it.
