Custom Persuader 5-string on Reverb
« on: March 23, 2018, 01:54:41 PM »
This one was up for sale a couple years ago... its a pretty unusual Custom medium-scale 5-string: JZ pickups, Persuader electronics, and a Distillate body shape with 3 purpleheart neck laminates. It was autographed by members of the John Entwistle Band sometime along the way.

<sigh>  :)

You can tell by the quilt maple it is the same bass, now minus signatures.

Yes indeed. Same bass. Signatures are gone.
The beautiful Mahogany backside has been restored to it's original beauty.

The bass can now be purchased by ANYONE that wants an Alembic.
Those signatures were preventing the bass from selling and being enjoyed and played.

IMO, signatures on fine instruments are akin to spray paint graffiti on a beautiful cliff wall out in a serene nature setting.
Jarring, ugly and unwanted.

Signatures belong on paper, not guitars.

Agreed, I always assumed that Stanley Clarke says something like “are you sure you want me to sign that Alembic!?”
