Ah, another slice of THE zebrawood. It has the adjustable nut, front leds, an inlaid logo, apparently new pickups, the Oxford comma, and a shiny finish - all suggesting it has had an extensive spa treatment at the Mothership. However they don't specifically state that it's had the electronics upgrade, that would be worth inquiring. And the neck volume knob is the odd one out.

Looks like it might be poornigel’s bass that he was restoring...the custom ebony knobs and star inlay on the first fret are similar to some of his other basses.

I'm sure the series bass nigel was having done having restored was a large bodied bass not a short scale but then he had quite a few alembics. From what I know of poornigel he is particular about whom he sells his basses to so I think he would put his basses for sale here first before going elsewhere.
Apart from that it is a really tasty looking bass and it superb looking condition.
The star inlay makes me think Bootsy Collins.

The grain pattern is a match but the seller lists it as a 1977? I wonder what the story is.

Definitely looks like poor nigel's refurbished bass. Weird that the serial number doesn't match.

The last post in Thomas' (poor_nigel) thread says the neck was twisted and therefore needed replacement.

[wild guess] Could this be a '77 neck they had squirreled-away in the shop for just such a replacement?
