I am not in a hurry to sell this beauty, but I need to thin the herd in anticipation of a custom that I just ordered and expect later this year. So, I suppose now is as good a time as ever to get started...
I purchased this magnificent instrument from the original owner. This is a collector-grade, dead-mint instrument that has been stored in its case. Comes with spec sheet, original Alembic G&G hard shell case, and all case candy.
This stunning four-string bass was completed in 2014 and features absolutely gorgeous Redwood Burl top and back laminates - I can only describe the textured wood grain as somewhere between fire and lava. The body is Mahogany with Purple Heart and Maple accents. The neck is Maple/Purple Heart/Ebony.
It is medium scale - 32”. It features the “Stanley Clarke” neck profile so it is a breeze to play.
Custom options include nickel-plated hardware, an inline front and back beveled peghead, continuous wood backplates, two-color (red and blue) side LED’s, a bird tailpiece, and a “fat boy” pickup in the bridge position. Alembic chose an absolutely gorgeous piece of ebony for the fingerboard and there are no fingerboard inlays.
I included many photos in the listing so you can see this instrument in all its beauty.
This instrument sounds like no other I’ve ever played. There’s a huge range of possible sounds and it really “cuts through” a band.
Asking price is $5,750 -- offers are welcome (but no trade offers, please -- don't tempt me!).
