I have seen some wonderful sunsets on this visit to CO - but about 973 miles into a 974 mile drive when I realized I'd forgotten my camera; yeah - no, not going back for it............

Wonderful shots, guys!

Senior Management took one with Her phone; looking out the door in the 2nd-floor great room.

For Grandson #3's impending 8th birthday (he's the one in AK), a friend of his parents bought him a helicopter ride; Dad took a shot out the window.  And Rudy seems to be enjoying it!  (My son admitted to some trepidation, as his only previous ride had been a med-evac to Duluth in college after he got himself on the wrong end of a bicycle-SUV collision......)

Peter (who will try not to shudder as he calls your attention to what's outside the window in the shot of El Ruderino.....)

Eclipse pictures. The first three were taken from here in Virginia, in front of my Water Treatment Plant, right at 15:15 - 15:20. It was very overcast, and easy to see, so I let my phone burn its retinas...

The really spectacular ones are from my nephews, who were in Arkansas for a better look... and hard to say what else.

Nice shots, Greg.
We were in myrtle Beach, and didn't even notice anything.

You went to Myrtle Beach and didn't stop by for coffee on your way?

Yeah, sorry.
Here to my brother's place in OH, then Myrtle, then a stop in Salisbury to see Baby Sister & the old man, then home - and the "Roanoke" and "Asheville" signs really made me want to pull off and say "Howdy" to you and Greg - but I am a traveler, and She is a tourist; I see the journey as most of the fun, while She sees it as an obstruction between destinations to be overcome as efficiently as possible (sometimes i wonder how we've lasted 41 years.....).  When they finally catch up to Star Trek and get transporters, She will be the first in line (and I would have been ready 54 miles east of Indy on I-70 Friday evening, when construction allowed us to spend 2 1/2 hours going 1 1/2 miles).

I meant to take I-74 at least to Indy, and maybe to Bloomington, IL - but it merged with I-77, and the signs just disappeared; 77 & 81, but no more 74!  What's up with that?

Besides, neither of you guys want whatever it is we came down with between OH & SC - and are still fighting (we tested, twice, and no, it's not that).

No more I-77...?! That can't be. Must be a rearrangin' of things. Like a section of it is I-74 now? I ain't been that way in a while, though I was desperately hoping for a few roadtrips this summer, several of which were going to involve 81-S and 77-S to Galax, VA, Mount Airy and Sparta, N.C.and points beyond.

The whole thing is a moot point until they come up with a replacement for me. It ain't happenin'... more evidence that just being necessary doesn't make you important. 🙄

Spouse is still getting over some epic, respiratory/ congestion thing.   Tested negative.   Two weeks and symptoms are almost gone…. How I haven’t caught it is a mystery.

Veering back… enjoy this view from last autumn, Edgar on the ridge in Irma.

Same thing here; Diana picked up a virus on her recent trip.  Thought she was over it, but she just went back to bed, scuttling Sunday afternoon plans.

OK, edited to fix typo; it was 74 that disappeared from the signs.
