Looking at a map, I think that must be the St. Louis River heading into Lake Superior.

Ah yes, found it!

Photo taken with an iPad.  Cropped and zoomed.
What we have here is a Rusty Patched Bumble Bee.  It is on the Endangered list.  We are fortunate to have a good number of them in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

They make lawn cutting a challenge.

Yeah… no.  I am wrong, reached out to the University extension, what we have is an ‘orange belted bumble bee’.

Not endangered.   Still a very important pollinator. ♥️

These fine folks live down the road from the middle son's new crib in Conifer, CO; apparently they change clothes frequently.

Wonder what the acoustics are like for the musicians playing in a rounded structure like that.

It's just foil, no hard surfaces.

A new friend of recent time hast I found.
From unbeknownst origins didst she leap.
In a spell hast I fallen in her eyes .
One ,two ,three, five, eight ,one, eight,'tis her call.
Thus, I whistle and there she shall appear.
Sylvania Mysteria 'tis her name .
As nocturnal zeitgeists, we share the night .
In darkness doth we dwelleth under moon light .

Paul, I believe she is indeed quite wise and intelligent. She actually recognizes musical intervals in a sequence. When I whistle 1,2,3,5,8,1,8 in any key, Major or minor, she speaks and approaches me. I trained her with a snack reward in her learning process. I continue that ritual to help manifest our bond.

Slick. He had no guile, no wiles... not a care in the world. He had a severe distrust of ceiling fans. And he didn't understand glass doors. Well, not completely. Mirrors kinda' messed him up too. One day he was gone... I think he just got tired of the noise issue around here, and found a quieter place to shack-up.

I'm starting to look up, more longingly at that Mountain... probably won't make it up there this year.
