Sweet! I'd love to sit, caffeinate & pick to the sunrise there, Greg!  Well, as long as it rises after 10:00 or so.  Or it's the end of the day instead of the start.

Circling back to my personal tree woes.

Not a very good picture, but what you are viewing is a sucker growing up off of the decimated trunk of one of the oaks.
This is only about 5 weeks since the destruction was observed.*
It is at least 9' tall!!!   The partner tree has an abundance of suckers bouncing back.  These trees are not done.   :D

Need to come up with a plan to protect them...

Saw this tired Monarch in the field, I congratulated it for making it to the Northwoods.

We have 33 acres that is robustly full with Milk Weed.  The smell on the hill when they bloom is uplifting.

That's nice country up there, Paul. Looking beyond the sapling in your picture there.

Right about now, it's HOT here, and that means one very good thing is happening... another week or so and these will be be gone. I love them with vanilla soft-serv.

A couple fireworks pictures from Rocky Mount, Virginia.

And another look at my favorite berry patch.  :)

Love the hat!  8)

Never seen the white straw trilby in the one pic before, but the slouch hat in the rest of them he just got when he was here a few weeks ago; the front of the band says "Brookfield Zoo".  He got it 2 days into a 10-day visit, and I don't think I saw him without it after that.

And I do hope that his adorableness isn't blinding all to the scenery behind him (this is that thread, after all......)

Sometimes on Wednesday I eat lunch at this spot on Summit Ridge. There's a quiet secluded spot at a Storage Tank in a soybean field. (I finally found out what they were) You can see for miles up there. Today, for some reason I just felt like I should get my backside back in WQ-413 and get offa' this hill.
