This is very interesting:  where my youngest lives, in Alaska, the general attitude toward bald eagles is akin that of Chicagoans to pigeons, and toward crows as Chicagoans' to rats.

Another Morton troll - this one with a grandson (#2, Kane - or, as Granddude calls him, the Kaniac)

I had an Aunt who lived in Lisle... didn't know they had cool stuff.

Wolf (crow whisperer) - I recall you mentioning your crow friends... my first winter in the Northwoods I would leave peanuts out for them and they never came.  Then my fear of attracting black bear set in (we had 3 honey bee hives on the property) so I stopped.

Paul , I understand indeed  , that a Black Bear could present a gnarly challenge in the process  of Crow friendship inclusivity :) !

Cool, that's the same troll, different angle!

LOL! There's a bar in Lisle in the middle of a condo complex that I've had a lot of decadent fun playing cover tunes at, so that's kinda cool. There's also a hot air balloon fest every 4th of July. Outside of that, it seems to be a sleepy suburb.

I'm pretty sure I've gigged in Lisle; what's the name of the bar?

For years it was "the Lodge". More recently it became "Basecamp". The other place you may have played in Lisle would be Mullen's.

The Lodge & Mullen's both sound familiar.  The place I'm thinking of was in a strip mall; had a low ceiling and a low stage - with a pole in the middle and a mirrored wall behind it.  Truly a soundman's nightmare.  Fortunately, 2 of the 3 bands I played there with carried a black cloth backdrop (but I still wished for the theater curtain another band I worked for carried.....)

Peter (who, on second thought, can't rule out the possibility that the place he's thinking of wasn't actually in Hangover Park)

Anyone out there live near Seattle?  Here’s a pic of your Mt. Baker from our Galiano Island. Hopefully not sideways.

If only it were that easy! Maybe when the pandemic subsided we can do a Pacific Northwest Alembic gathering!

It’s a pretty beautiful place. I’m getting used to not living in a big metropolis. But this part of the world has always held part of my soul since I left it 40(!!) years ago.
