A few from our road trip (which I will report upon over in that thread forthwith):  Early morning in Bill's driveway (it was misty & I couldn't capture just how spectacular his view is), alongside CA 1 somewhere between Pacifica & Morro Bay, and standing in my buddy Tex's front yard in 99°F desert heat looking at snow.

I'm on a holiday weekend camping/music trip near Lithia, Virginia with my friends the McAllisters. Took a good long hike yesterday through the woods, and around the valley here, and saw the following sights.

I've been accused of having my head in the clouds. I like to find prismatic halos. Here's two circumhorizon arcs I spotted at the end of last month. My pics aren't as nice as the ones on the Atmospheric Optics website but it's always a thrill to look up and see these fleeting events.

Can't say that I've ever seen that happen! Maybe I should look up-ward more?  ;)

We begin and end every Summer at a campground near Lithia, Virginia... Memorial Day weekend & Labor Day weekend we're the Camp's host band. I've been on-duty for the last 8 days, (and got 2 more to go :P ) but have been commuting to the campground instead of home.

Went for a walk yesterday evening and saw this...

Richard...
That screams solitude!
Did you glimpse the Northern Lights on Friday/Saturday?

Too cloudy at the end of the week up there. But some beautiful stars and sunsets earlier in the week. I’m back in town now.

From the deck of the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry MV Malaspina, on the Inside Passage between Juneau and Skagway (you should see it when the sun's out!)
