Nice shots!  Here, we're enveloped by clouds.

Earlier this evening.  The picture didn't capture the extent of the clouds very well, but perhaps you get the idea.

Yesterday we went for a walk on some trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway near my house.  The first two pictures are looking out from Pisgah Inn, the halfway point of our walk.  The third is from the car as we were headed from there into town to run some errands.  That patch of green field in the middle left of the picture is on the road to my house, which is about a mile or so from there off the left of the picture.

No Springtime pictures yet, though it is starting to happen here. (finally!)

I did happen to look up and catch this sight the other day... one of the smaller Presidential transport aircraft.

Because of Roanoke's geography situated in a mountainous bowl, and our proximity to Andrews AFB in D.C., they make practice runs at the airfield here on some schedule. (alternate Mondays lately) No way you'd ever have room to land or take off in the VC-25 (747) here. So I guess that explains the visits. I have observed they do about a dozen touch-n-go's from different directions on the runways, flying figure 8's over the city, then finally a steep climb and gone.

I love when they come back!

This year Henry (our resident Northern Harrier) has NOT been seen yet.,. But, either Henrietta or Henry Jr. has been recognized.  As well as a pair of Sandhill Cranes.

The Harriers seem to know when a camera is pulled out and they quickly disappear.

We had a Hummingbird at our kitchen window last week, demanding that we get some food in it's feeder, and HANG that puppy up, already!!!
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

So here's the picture that I tried to upload last Saturday (I'm wondering if the issue with the bots prevented it from posting).

We went for a walk up at Craggy Gardens off the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville.

These particular site-bots must have good taste in fine musical instruments and amateur photography.  ;)

View across the lake to the point where our cabin sits.  Last chance to ski on the lake this year, I expect.

Normally the lake is not sideways, however.

It would be "normal" if you were a Tipped Cow! ;)
