We have a lot in our corner of Scotland.  If my 4 year old Grandson is in the car and someone say's 'look at the windmills' he shouts' 'they're turbines'.  I've taught him well :)

Good job, Grandpa!

My dad is a chemist (well, was; he's retired for decades now), so if someone says (as my mother was wont to do, before she heard this often enough) "It's only water; you won't melt", I reflexively respond "No - but you might dissolve."

here's a few at the top of the hill behind us (we're surrounded by forests so they aren't intrusive). Taken today at around 3pm. Typical Driech Scots weather.

Wow that looks blustery, Graeme.

Oh, what does everyone use to post pictures? Maybe message me as not to change the subject of the thread?

That does indeed look a bit cold.

Stefanie; when you click on Reply to write a message, look below the text box to where it says Attachments & Other Options.  This opens up a little section where you can attach a file.  Note that there is a 500KB size limit.  When you click Preview the picture doesn't show, as it doesn't upload until you click Post.

But, it seems like they have to be hosted off-site. I think? O.o

No.  Under "Attach:" click on Choose File, and the folders on your computer should open up.

Just a couple more scenes, as seen through my phone's camera while out on daily walks. Sunday afternoon was a perfect Carolina blue sky over this huge grassy meadow at Green Hill Park in Glenvar, Virginia... the other is from after work this afternoon. I went walking around the Carvins Cove reservoir as soon as I went off-duty. Watched a pair of bald eagles fishing out of the lake right before sunset.

Thanks Paul... just a few random things I see. Mine is a Galaxy S7, a couple years old, but has an excellent camera with some really nice features. (most of which I don't know how to make use of) The stock editor is good for cropping and resizing, usually, simply texting the pictures to myself reduces the file sizes below the 500 kB limit for posting here.

Dave, I had the filters set to 'Vivid' to capture the sky Sunday. It was really something up there. It occurred to me, that meadow would also be a fantastic place for a sleigh-ride next timewe get a big snow. (said the guy with the Titanium reinforced neck...)   ::)

An ice storm blew through Virginia this week and wreaked disaster on the roads and power grid, but made for some nice scenes on my morning rounds at the Carvins Cove Dam and Reservoir. My little home community of Masons Cove is on the other side of this lake, and just over the first ridge there.
