Looking for info

I'm new to forum and am not sure if this is the right forum to post this...

Anyway, I had a '77 Alembic stolen in the early 80's. The bass had a female cut-a-way and maple(birds-eye or quilted) front and back.
The serial # was 680. The location was Dallas,TX.

Any photos or info would immensely appreciated.........thx!

I serched on my archives, but I can’t find your bass.
“Female cutaway” means Omega cut, isn’t it ?
Maple top with omega cut body are quite rare.
I found only one bass, and 4 guitars with standard omega body at the 70’s.
Other maple’s are all pointed body.

 Thx for the effort from everyone! The bass definitely had the cut-a-way at the bottom. ( not sure about what it's proper name is) and the left "horn" was longer than the right....so it was not a symmetrical body. I may not know for sure the exact kind of wood, but I would call it maple....I'm assuming the serial # would define all that stuff?.........I believe the Alembic emblem was hand-cut out of maybe (silver?)...not sure of what kind of metal.

It was a very bad day for me as I lost a '64 Precision (mint)..also....it was never found......

Sorry for your misfortune, however long ago it was.    I always hope we can find a lost one here.

For your reference, the bass in my avatar is a modern variation on a quilted/birdseye maple Omega-cut. (mine of course is a five-string, and not a Series instrument) There are only a handful of Omega bodies in the Showcase section, and as mentioned, birdseye maple isn't a commonly-seen combination. That being said, it's my favorite of all.

As an aside, yours must have been among the last to have a hand-cut logo... Eiji would know for sure, but I believe they were phased out (of regular use) pretty early in '77.

We'll keep an eye out for it.
