If you really look at this bass, it has the middle hum canceller with what appears to be SC-1 pickups from the Series basses. Did not see a 5 pin for DS-5 power.
I didn't know they could actually setup a full series configuration on battery power (unless that middle humcanceller is just there for appearance). How are the signature electronics configured as far as pickups and switches?

It looks like Europa, or Distillate electronics in that bass. I am sure that the dummy pickup really is dummy. Check out the 2 logos on the headstock. Is 2 really enough?

I have seen one of Alembic's early basses an there was an extra logo inlaid on the body.

You know i didn't see those two logos. I think the owner ordered it that way- i'm sure they would not put an extra logo on there as a standard feature, that doesn't make any sense. Very nice looking bass though.

It looks like Distillate electronics to me too. The back shot makes it pretty clear the whole bass is a Distillate.

Wish the picture of the serial number revealed the serial number (I can almost make out 88D5??6).

I don't remember putting two logos on a bass except for a few early ones with a logo on the body like Michael describes and of course doublenecks, where even some of those only got one logo.

The top is likely Coco Bolo, not Mac Eb as the seller describes.

I e-mailed the seller for more info, but, I have not had a reply. The tuning is a little odd to an old 4-string guy. Could it be strung B-E-A-D-G? and do you think it is legit?? From a previous topic do you think it has dummy LED's??

Apparently the seller is describing the tuning from the lightest gauge string up. What I would normally describe as E-A-D-G-C the seller is describing C-G-D-A-E.

Probably tuned high C, which is more common for non-long scale 5-strings. I usually describe tunings like malthumb from the lowest up to the highest: EADGC. I had to take a doubletake on that part of the listing too.

Still no word from the seller, 3 days now. I guess thinking low to high tells you which way I build the song, from the bottom up.
