(x) 1976 Series I [76-535]

Looking for information on my latest acquisition...a Series I (Serial #76-535) that recently arrived from Toronto Canada.  Started life as fretted bass but lost its frets somewhere along the way.

I found 76'-535 in my archives. The bass has Lacewood top and back, isn't it ?
Here is the description.

Description:... Here's an old Alembic bass that was used for decades by Manteca bassist and session player Henry Heilig!  This one was defretted in 1978,  has had a Hipshot D-tuner retrofitted  and a battery on-off toggle added.  Considering the countless number of gigs this bass has done it is in quite astonishing condition!!!

That's the one! Thanks. I thought it might be Lacewood but wasn't sure. I purchased it from Henry and he was great to work with. Didn't even have to pay any import fees to get it here to Minnesota from Toronto. It's road worn but definitely has mojo. May or may not send it in for Refurbishing. In comparison to other Series basses I've looked at, it was VERY reasonable...$1200 (and there was no negotiation here, I paid Henry the price he set and what he thought it was worth.
