To all those in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving, especially those in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and Northern California.  To all those around the world, happy day :)

Peace.

 :)

And please be careful if you're traveling the highways... lotsa' traffic out there.

I worked my regular shift today, then visited with my musical extended family... a very close-knit group of friends I am continually thankful for.

My sister and I drove down to the big city of Charlotte to visit my brother and his family.  Traffic on I-85 from Kings Mountain to Charlotte, and back, was heavy and fast; but otherwise the journey was nice, as was our visit.

Hoping everyone in Alembicland had a wonderful day.

Senior Management and I enjoyed our turkey along with our annual Thanksgiving Godfather marathon.  We made it through all three this year!

I'm thankful that the Wickershams and the Alembic crew made it thru the awful fires.  If it's anything like the aftermath of a hurricane, it will take years for the area to come back, but places can be rebuilt:  You can't replace people.

My wife continues to come back, with fits and starts, from her (to hear the&*)**^(**) surgeon tell it) 'successful' back surgery.  Miss the BRB and the Green Elan, but I can and will get other basses.  As I always say, I've got my bills paid, a roof over my head, a kitchen with good stuff to cook, and a woman I love, so I have NOTHING to complain about . . . . . except I HATE turkey ! ! !  I far prefer brisket or tamales and enchiladas for TG Day, and for that, I'm REALLY thankful.

My Very Best to All of You.

We usually do TG with one or both of Her sisters, but they were both doing otherwise; the kids (and grandkids!) are all coming for Winter Solstice, and so weren't coming; we do have an exchange student currently living with us - but a full-blown dinner for 3 just wasn't doing it for us, so, for the first time ever, we went to a restaurant.  I did miss the cooking; the clean-up not at all!

Hey, we just made hamburgers!  (Although, I must admit...they were really GOOD hamburgers, with sweet potato fries...Pumpkin Pie for dessert... totally not your run-of-the-mill dinner.  All the best, by the way, J o e y... it's nice to see you still posting on occasion.  Once an alembician, always an alembician!!
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks Dan, though I must admit it feels strange since I'm now 'de-horsed', a former Alembic owner.

I did the annual Last Waltz Revisited at the Fillmore in Denver the night before (with my '83 Modulus neck through 6 with Alembic pickups, sounded great in that room) and then TG at home with Dawn and Xander. At home, because I had a fever of 101+ (made the gig kind of psychedelic). We were all sick. Mostly over it, but still sleeping a lot.

Best part about Thanksgiving: Tuesday I had a deportation hearing at the GEO detention center and filed a motion to terminate the proceedings. Wednesday evening, my client walked out and had Thanksgiving with his family. It was the second family I reunited for the holiday. Grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

A  belated best wishes for Thanksgiving to all. Rene and I left for Medoc Mtn State Park on the 22nd and got back yesterday afternoon. As our youngest works most holidays for the holiday pay and our oldest is usually a rushed visit so they can get to her husband's family as well we've opted to go it alone the last couple of years. It's nice as the campgrounds aren't crowded this time of year and we can pretty much hike in solitude. No cell or other service so it is low tech as well.  For this year's dinner I prepared roasted pheasant with dressing, baked apples and braised brussel sprouts w/leeks, sun dried tomatoes and prosciutto. For dessert what would camping be without smore's so I baked a smore's cake.

Edwin; sorry to hear you've been sick.  But nice outcome for your client.  :)
