There's a nice Rogue in Reverb right now. Looks like it is in Texas.

Here's a pic.

Dan I love my Rogues (Now I have that out of the way) LOL!  The Rogue's balance extremely well with 0 neck dive. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. As other members have stated, with the exception of the neck lams they are very similar. One of my Rogues has neck lams the other doesn't, they sound similar.  I think the difference in sound is the woods that they are constructed with. The one with neck lams is a custom. The electronics of the standard Rogue's and Europa's are the same and I would say for live performances are probably the best for quick tonal changes. Either will give you crystal clear sound that can and will cut through just about any mix. From a price standpoint I would think somewhere between $3,500-$5,000. The other thing I would tell you is that you don't see many of either for sale that often, so if you really want it, let the seller know that you are really serious and engage him him into some serious negotiations and close the deal!

I too have a Rogue 5,Purpleheart top and stringers through the neck and I have played it almost exclusively since I purchased it in '03.

Zero neck dive and the most comfortable neck out of the three basses I own. A Squire V7 fiver and a Ibanez fiver with a fan fret
neck rounds out the stable.

I'll never get rid of or sell my Rogue since it just plays like a dream and sounds like no other. The others?Eh.I wouldn't cry if I had to part with them.

All great feedback from the club!  Thanks so much to all for being so helpful!  I've learned a lot about the differences and believe I'll make a good decision when I'm ready to purchase.  I'd like to sell my BSR5MW Ken Smith to help fund my Europa/Rogue purchase.  It is a very nice bass but not an Alembic.  If anyone knows a player interested in a Ken Smith 5-string, please let me know.
