Feeler FT: David King Bass for Alembic.
« on: September 23, 2017, 04:05:13 PM »
Hi guys, Really just putting it up as a feeler at this point. If this bass were a 5
I would not even be thinking of it.

Here is some relevant info:

Model: 4 string D bassBody
woods: Claro walnut top, sassafras back and purpleheart rails.
Neckwoods: Wenge and purpleheart neck with macassar ebony fingerboard
Hardware: 6061-T6 alloy with black anodizing, tusque saddles.
Finish: PPG DCU-2002 over epoxy filler

Pickups and electronics: Bartolini triple coil in bridge, Bartolini dual coil soapbar in neck position. Bartolini 3 band eq with switchable mid frequency. Coil tap series, parallel, single coil switch for bridge pickup. Active / passive push pull volume pot. Wittman on-board tuner.

Here is the original thread where I bought it from. Lot of pics there.
It comes with a sweet mini flight case also.

David King Bass 4 - String D bass 2004? PPG DCU-2002

There are some slight fingernail indentations (I think thats what they are?) by the controls, hard to see.
Looking for 5 and 6 strings. Please, let me know what you have.

Anyway thanks for looking.

wow....If this is still there in November (I am touring right now) and you are also considering a straight sale...then lets make it happen.

Hi. I am not really looking for a straight sale at this point and I may ultimately just pull the ad, but if there were a nice custom Excel or Orion, Essence (cocobolo or another interesting look, 2 pickups, laminates, or whatever) I may go for it.
Thanks

Sweet bass! In much better aesthetic shape than mine, although mine has been ridden hard and put away wet hundreds of times.

GLWTT!
