Greetings

92U7319 USA is my bass.  Have owned it since 1998ish.  Don't play it a lot these days as I am primarily a guitar player and generally opt for a P-Bass when I play bass (it's much easier to play ..the Alembic is a handful).  It's a pretty amazing instrument, though, I feel bad sometimes about having it sit around mostly unplayed.

Any info on it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Here's what's in the instrument file:

top: Flame Maple
accent: Walnut and Maple pinstripes
body: Mahogany
neck: 7-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
hardware: black chrome
pickups: MXY56
controls: "Europa" volume, pan, filter, Q-switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono side-mounted output
originally made for: Bass Centre, London
birthday: August 3, 1992

Sometime in the time since the bass was made and you got it, the hardware was either replaced or stripped.

Play it! :)

Thanks Mica! ... although I don't understand this sentence:

"Sometime in the time since the bass was made and you got it, the hardware was either replaced or stripped."

I found another Europa picture on the internet and the hardware looked exactly the same.  Is there a difference between mine and this one? ....

Dan, I think what Mica is saying is that the Build information indicates that the bass had black chrome hardware and both the Talk Bass and pictures in this thread show brass hardware (bridge, tailpiece, tuners).

Thanks, Paul! You stated it more clearly that I did. Everything about the build record indicates it has black chrome hardware - there are many several steps to getting plated hardware done which are all recorded, and even all the tracking numbers for sending the hardware out and coming back.
