Basses sent out to stores
« on: December 01, 2003, 06:58:08 PM »
I was browsing through some of the showcase threads and in one there was a post from Mica of a bass that was just finished and sent out to a store(with the address in the post). I was wondering if the company keeps records of which basses are sent out and where they are sent. If so, is there any way I can find out about basses sent to   Rolls Music
          1065 W Broad St
          Falls Church, VA 22046
or Shomaker Music
                    501 Trollinger St
                    Burlington, NC 27215
?
Thanks,
andrew

Andrew; I don't know the answer but thought I would try to help with a guess.  If you are asking about a particular bass you've seen at Shomaker, you can get the serial number off the bass and request info about that particular bass.  If you are asking for a list of all the basses sent to Shomaker, I would imagine that would be quite difficult and time consuming.  Historically, each bass has had a build card kept with the information on model, woods, etc.  Mica has mentioned here in the past that one of their long term goals is to get all the build card info into a databass.  Presumably, once the databass project is completed such a request might be more feasible.  However, with such a small staff and such a long build time on basses, I would imagine building basses is a little higher priority than sitting at a computer entering databass info .

Hello Andrew,

Dave described the situation pretty accurately; I might be able to help you if you can narrow the parameters down.

Dave, I haven't forgotten about your e-mail, btw, I apologize for the delay, but your questions have somewhat complex answers. I hope to get to it within the next week or so, although you are more than welcome to call anytime and I can answer your queries over the phone, that would probably be faster.

LOL!!  Michael, it wasn't intentional; I didn't even notice it!  But it works!

Val; thanks.  Now that I have the Spoiler, I want to send my Essence to Santa Rosa for upgrades fairly soon.  I corresponded with Mica about it a year ago but did not have a backup bass at that time.  I'll get my thoughts together on it and e-mail you soon.

I am still somewhat uncertain about the following:

are you asking what Epic and Essence models we sent to those stores recently? that they might have in stock?  or are you asking about ALL the Epic and Essence basses we ever sent them?
