I had a Series 1, 4 string, circa 73 or 75, the stamp was a little messed up, so I was never sure which it was. Zebra wood top and back, zebra headstock laminate. The unique thing was I had a purple flight case made for it. Also had the original hardshell. Several years ago I saw it on Elderly Instruments for sale for $3,500.00. It was mine, still had my orange name sticker on the purple case. Didn't have the money at the time. I had that bass for a long time, traded to Nashville Used Instruments for an upright, don't remember how many years ago, probably at least fifteen. Anyway, if someone knows the bass or owner, I would be interested in seeing if I could buy it back. I'm sure there are better basses out there, but this one has history with me.
