That's one seriously nice looking Spolier and are those ebony stringers? Looks like it's either undergone a refin or was meticulously cared for as it looks new.

They had initially listed this one as a 34" scale, but I got confirmation, it is 32".

Must admit, this one is sooo tempting... I really have to focus on keeping priorities straight now... pay off mortgage, retire in 7 years, THEN buy another Alembic to celebrate.   8)

*unless a Series I in need of rescue comes along meantime!   ;D

Perhaps pay your mortgage early and use the difference of what you save on interest towards a new build.....or rescue my amazing 2013 Series I which is in pretty much new/mint condition. :)

Don't think that Series I of yours hadn't crossed my mind a time or two Brian...  ;D

Didn't you used to have a Spoiler 5-string similar to this one too?

Nah, I'm pretty serious about the 7-year plan... I can't retire altogether, but provided the house is paid for, I can retire from public service at age 55 with 30+ years, and go do something else. (like play bass, or work in my bass fiddle shop! ;D ) Besides, I'm incredibly fortunate to have the two Alembics already, and waiting on a custom build to ship out any day. It'll keep for a while.  ;)

Yes I did have one very similar to this, I sold it of course :). So far I have sold 3 non-stereo enabled Alembics including the Spoiler 5 you mentioned. Series instruments are preferred now with the exception of my stereo/Anniversary black bass.

If you want the Series I, i'll even drive down to VA and deliver it to you, this way I can take the family on a road trip, to DC or somewhere else.  :)

PM me if the lil Alembic angel on your shoulder says; "Come on, get it!".  "You'll never get a chance to get a new/modern, tricked out, lightweight, 32" with a super comfy 1.48" nut, bad a$$ sounding bass like this without donating blood (everyday for a year straight) for another new build." :).    Not a bad salesman for a musician/engineer if I do say so myself. :)
