Looking for an alembic short or medium scale bass

Hi I am new to this forum.  I am currently looking for an Alembic  short or medium scale bass.
I am partial to the  look of the Stanley Clarke/ brown bass/  distillate bass.  Need to keep the cost under 3K if possible.   any help/ advice would be appreciated

Make sure that you play them first, the Clarke's tend to be neck heavy.  You can't go wrong with an Alembic but find out which body shape and electronics are best for you! I had always wanted a Mark King with Omega cut because I love how they look.  Fortunately I found one in my area that I was going to buy and strapped it on, and it wasn't for me. I didn't like the balance and the Omega cut shifts everything to the left a few inches,  which made it  uncomfortable for me to play. Fast forward,  I ended up with two Rogues an Orion with a Rogue body and a regular Orion. The two Rogues and one Orion have Europa/Rogue electronics and the other has Orion electronics. I chose these basses because most of my playing is live and the Rogue and Orion body shapes balance well and the electronics are great for live gigs. Others love the Clarke and King basses. There aren't any bad Alembics. The series electronics are the most versatile sound wise and are great for recording. Bottom line, it's best to try different Alembics to find what body shapes and electronics work for you! Good luck in your search, this site is a great place to start.

Sorry to tempt you with something just over your budget. :-)
But here is one that I've seen up for a few weeks. A distillate in a MK body style although it's a five stringer.

The small body isn't really that bad. They do not sit in the typical 1 o'clock high neck position like you have on Fender style basses. Instead they tend to sit closer to 3 o'clock. They are also more comfortable when worn higher on the body. This tucks the body under the arm and tends to pull the neck up.

I don't think you will find a Stanley Clarke or BB for under $3K. You should also keep a lookout for an older Series I small body as you can find those in the same price range as the SC and BB.
