Long time since I have been on here

Well it must be over a year or more since I have posted anything on here, maybe longer, how long as this new site been up and running as this is the first time I have used it since the old one was declared redundant!
I don't play anymore, my MK signature sits in its stand just looking good, in fact I am retired now and thinking of moving out of the UK, reasons both politically and environmental(I cannot tolerate the cold anymore)
So this is year is declutter and sell gear(but not the Alembic)
Looks like most of the regulars still post on here and I hope you are all in good health and spirits, I spend a lot of time in the gym and at karate so at the approaching age of 60 in June I have never been fitter!
Anyway I may check in from time to time and see what is happening in the Alembic world.

great seeing you in here again. Me the same, went on here yesterday after a longer time.
Also no basses here for the time being. Am without a job since one year and basses had to go to make funds.  Really hard this time to get a new job.

Good to see you guys are still kicking. The jobs market is certainly not what it once was, and wages are generally down. I'm working and thankful for it and also looking forward to maybe being able to retire in a little over 6 years if the markets don't implode, but I see all around me how quickly things can change in that regard with both family and friends. I hope you two have music flowing from your fingers again soon, as we all know it's some of the best medicine there is to get through changes and difficult times.

Edward, yeah no residual after effects from minor stroke.
I doubt I will be playing in bands anymore, I just got fed up of the rigmarole of it all, loading the car up, setting up, do the gig, load car up again and unload at home, getting in late for little reward.
Those days of 'you do it for the love of it' are well gone !
I would rather put my time to better use !

positive thinking is the most important. 
I had a retinal thrombosis in 2012 and the doctors said that it also could have been a stroke. 
I changed my whole life since then but everyday you have to fight your inner ego.

Amen. With significant back/spinal issues I have to constantly remind myself that most of what I really want to do is not on the list of possibilities anymore. Thankfully many wonderful things have filled those voids once I've made room for them.
