It looks like a very nice instrument. I would think it is on the high side for a used instrument with electronics that are a step down from what a Signature Standard would have. It also doesn't have the purple heart laminates you see in the Europa's.  It might have started life as an Essence but I can't tell with this one as the serial number appears to have a "C" for custom. To me a price starting at $2.5K to around $3K would be more realistic. I base this on prices I've seen for Essence basses which tend to be around the $2K mark and Europa basses that go for $3K - $3.5K. I don't follow prices closely so others that do might have a better price range.

I would agree with Keith.  However, it seems that people are asking a LOT more nowadays for instruments that a short while ago (as in September/October) were going for reasonable prices.  As others have indicated, an individual sees something listed on Ebay for several thousand dollars more than it could really fetch and prices their instrument accordingly never looking back to see if the instrument in question actually sold.  I recently made an offer on a Series I that I though was quite reasonable given no DS-5 power supply or cable was included and it had not had an electronics upgrade but never even heard back from the guy with a counter offer.  I suggested he ask for feedback here as to what the going price would be for a bass of this type but I don't think he ever followed through.
