Has anyone oredered a brass tailpiece or bridge from Alembic, and how much did it cost you?  I am looking for a brass six string guitar bridge/tailpiece.

interesting you should ask that, I was thinking of replacing the plastic backplate and truss rod covers on my epic with brass if they were available and could be shipped to scotland. Looks like another one for Mica.

You don't want to order them from Alembic directly.  Call Bass Central or the dealer of your choice and you will get a pretty good discount off the list price that you pay when you go direct.  I'm sure Mica will tell you the same thing...

I replaced my Skylark's backplates with brass.  It took a little time because the plates were extra thick.... It was relatively inexpensive through Alembic.  No muss, no fuss...give them a call.

My entire relationship with Alembic began when I ordered a brass bird tailpiece and bridge from them for a guitar I was having built by another luthier. Such a small order might get placed at the bottom of the priority list at a large dealer. The folks at Alembic made me feel like that small order was just as important as anything else. In fact, it was enough to convince me to have them build my next guitar. Some things are worth paying a little extra for. Avoid the headache and just go to the source.

Jacko; replacing the plastic truss rod cover on a set neck bass with a brass cover is not as straight forward as it would seem.  Back before the price increase I believe the cost to do this was around $50, and it's probably more now.  But you should contact Mica or Val, since I'm only speculating.
