Taking the leap.
« on: November 30, 2016, 07:46:05 PM »
Good Evening.

I'm new to the community. Owning an Alembic has always been a dream of mine and it looks like that it is finally coming true. Saw a 1989 Distillate in great condition and couldn't pass it up. Taking the leap and needless to say, I'm quite excited. Hope to be posting pictures soon. I mostly play for my own enjoyment, non-professional, but on occasion get together with some other casual players and make a night of it at the local watering hole.

Welcome to the club and to alembic ownership. I'm extremely confident you will produce some great tones with your new bass.
Please let us know how you get on when you gig with it. And yes we love pictures here. :-)
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Playing an Alembic is a revelation, you will be amazed. Take sometime to get used to the different logic about using low pass filters. There are some valuable knowledge around the club, look for the Must Reads and FAQ and... welcome to the club!
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

Welcome New Neighbor.  :)

That's how it starts... my first Alembic experience was a Distillate too, and it was unforgettable.

My Distillate and I have a very special relationship.  You will discover through time that the tonal variation available to you, the comfort and ease of playing and the physical beauty of the instrument will turn it from an instrument to a keepsake.

Thanks. I'm very excited about it. I'm a big fan of birdseye and when I saw the top on this one, I knew I couldn't pass on it.
