Jazz bass actvators and electronics
« on: November 22, 2016, 08:55:40 AM »
Hi, Everyone. This is Nick, formerly afrobeat_fool. My account did not transfer after the change. I am building some instruments these days and I am looking for a set of J-Bass gear. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Hey, I remember you!!  (Just kidding - glad you're back, under whatever new name!)
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Nice to hear from you Nick. Would love to see what you've created when it's outfitted
with activators ( I'm OK with seeing un-outfitted shots too, if your creations aren't shy ;D ).

Nifty word play btw.

Thanks, guys! This whole thing started as a lark. We are documenting the whole process so I will share everything. I would also love input since you guys are the best and play the best!

Nick, great to hear from you.  So what type of builds are you doing?  I've been building bolt-ons, a few with Alembic guts.   Have a great Thanksgiving.

Bill, tgo

Hi, Bill! I am doing a couple of bolt on fender jazz style basses. One is ash body paduck top, one solid walnut, two walnut top mahogany bodies. The last two will have maple and walnut laminates and slightly longer and thinner upper horns like the rogue basses, but not as exaggerated. Mine will have Alembic activators the others will be passive. Some will be oil finished, mine will be polyester.
