Parametric EQ
« on: October 29, 2016, 03:31:27 PM »
My vintage Furman parametric EQ passed away after decades of service.

Any recommendations on a rack-mount replacement with the quality and reliability of Furman?

Furman PQ-3 with the dark red knobs?  Would you consider selling a knob or 2?

I have a Rane SP15 5 band that I use as a backup.  I'd probably be willing to part with that, although I have no idea what it's worth or what I paid for it.  My email is in my profile.

Just a little FYI--Rane was recently sold and according to some fellow techs new management apparently dumpstered pretty much their entire parts inventory for older product.

I tried a Rane EQ years ago but it did little compared to the Furman.  I put the Furman into the recycling bin.  I think i will try out a Meyer

A quick glance at the PQ-3 schematic looks as if, short of major internal destruction, any decent tech should be able to revive it.
