So I got kinda impatient on waiting on the hardware to arrive so I took the bass to work today and drilled the hole and wired it up and left the nut loosely secured to keep it from spinning around until the hardware arrives. The most natural place to put it seemed to be between the jack and the filter. I had to cut the install lead off of the caps to keep from putting to much stress on them in fitting the switch into place, I hook spliced some mil spec teflon wire I had on hand on to the cap connection and made a twisted pigtail to install into the filter PWA. All in all it turned out pretty well, but somehow I managed to connect it so the up position is actually full boost. Ill correct it when I take it back out to add the hardware though. For what its worth as an engineering tech spends his day modifying (and sometime repairing) PWA's for a radar systems development company, Im extremely impressed with the modular design of the control cavity. Taking components in and out via the molex connectors is really cool! As far as the operation of the switch its-self, what a great addition to an already great bass! Having the flat response is awesome as it makes the tone sit a little better in a song context while still retaining the Essence character. The switch really adds alot of tonal options and I really look forward to exploring it further once the switch hardware arrives and I can finish buttoning up the installation!
