Nice bass at a good price. Even after Photo-shoping the pics, I don't see the serial number anywhere on it?

That looks like Modder Dave's old bass.

Very nice! What do they mean by the neck being "reinforced with graphite?"

It is Dave's old bass and a really nice one. I am forced to make a tough decision but for good reasons instead of the usual. My daughter is an aspiring concert bassist. She needed to upgrade her old plywood upright bass. I met a great guy who sold us a Kai Arvi upright that I could not afford. I gave her lessons from the age of 9-13. Then I had to turn her over to a better teacher as she had already reached my level of skill on an upright. Not complaining at all as I have other Alembics to play, but sad to let this on go for sure. Slight discount for club members as I just want to break even on this bass.

You can hear it on this track. A very simple bass line.

I remember that bass, and for a good reason.  It is one of two Alembics I know of that had graphite rods imbedded into its neck.  My ebony bass was one, and Dave's fretless was the other.  It makes the neck stiffer and it adds to the fundaments that result.  Mica loved the way my bass sounded when it went into be refinished.  It was a great sounding bass, and still is, with its new ebony/purpleheart/maple neck.  I highly recommend this bass just on that information.  For the price, I seriously doubt you will find a better tone.  It is a 32" scale, but I would imagine it would be very close to the sound of a 34".
