It might be that one of the show's head honchos is a bass player or has a friend who's a bassist. Then, by usung the Alembic on the show it becomes a business expense and thus a tax write-off!
If anyone watches Arliss when it turns up intermittently on HBO (a VERY funny series about a sports agent), you might notice that in each episode the Kirby Carlyle character has a different guitar in his office. I've never seen him play it, or seen it have any significance in an episode, yet it is always there. One week a Les Paul, the next a Tele, than an SG, etc. Each can then be claimd as a business expense and written off. Someone has quite a collection.
