... but there may be a slipstream in a layer of subspace by which it would only take a few minutes to get there.  ...

I could see the functional use of such a thing.   :)

Just bought my tickets! Unfortunately, can't see the whole show, my temple has a guest speaker for the next day, so we'll take him to dinner, then go to TXR and catch some of the show but won't be able to stay till the end. I want him to see TXR and what better way than when a friend is playing!

just got back from the show - Cryptical at TXR on a full moon

By the time we got there, the place was packed - sold out show! So I was only really able to snap this pic of Stephen from the bar at the side of the stage:

But I was able to approach the stage after the second set ended and snap a pic of the bass rig, including the new 5-string and the 10th anniversary balloons!

Unfortunately we had to leave soon afterwards but managed to catch up with everybody who made it, Stephen included - thanks for a great show!

Just got back.  Stephen’s Alembic sounded freakin’ fantastic!  Great band, great show.  Wish we could have stayed ‘til the end of the third set.   TXR is a wonderful intimate venue.

Bill, tgo

I'd be totally up for a ride-share through sub-space with Dave if we could come out for a show...  ;D

Seriously, looks like a great time.  :)

Much appreciation to the local Alembicians who came out for our anniversary show! Was great to see Bill, Harry, Wolf and their wives even if only briefly. Glad that none of you got shut out, I found out around 5:30 that there were only 23 tickets left. I know Harry had to leave early since he and his guest speaker had to be up early for service at the temple but I hope the rest of you were able to stay long enough to hear us perform the full Terrapin Station suite. That was a real highlight for me. We only have played it once, a number of years ago, but didn't have Dave Ellis on board for that show. Having the sax this time really put it over the top.

This was the first big show that I used my Series II bass on and what a treat to finally get to hear it through my entire Barefaced rig and the excellent Meyer Sound system that is installed in the Grate Room. Any bass player who works in that room benefits from the fact that it is Phil's space so he made sure the bass is always going to sound as good as possible. Along with Bill's comment above I got lots of positive feedback about how great my new bass sounded. I suspect it is the walnut top and ebony laminate that gives this one such a punchy sound but it is not at the expense of luscious ultra-deep lows and crisp articulation. Sure doesn't hurt to have Howard Danchik at FOH, he knows exactly what Grateful Dead bass should sound like. I send him an unprocessed signal directly from my Avalon U5 and totally trust him to do the right thing.

Turns out someone did stream the show through one of the Stu Allen fan pages on Facebook. The stream doesn't appear to be archived but were six cell phone caps from the second electric set posted on the same page. If you want to check them out scroll down to below the picture of Bill Graham. Audio of the full show should end up on the Live Music Archive at some point. Unfortunately the person who posted the video caps had a technical problem while capturing the Terrapin Suite so it is MIA...

Sorry you are having a problem with that David. Videos on the Facebook link are still there they just end up further down the page as more posts are added and since Stu plays almost every night there is lots of activity on his fan page. I kind of look at them as temporary because of that. The link to the multi-track audio is the best way to hear the entire show (or the parts you choose) and is permanent as long as the Archive itself stays up. The music on the Archive can be streamed or downloaded in various flavors of audio...
