Alembic Meetup in South America?

I wasn't really paying attention but I thought I heard something about a gathering, specifically called The Alembics, in I think it was Brazil.  The report seemed particularly concerned with hardware, mainly Gold plated, but there was mention too of Bronze and I think Silver.  That's about as much as I know, as for some reason the discussion quickly changed to sports and I cut it off.

With that Dutch rogue that was persuaded to consume some distillated (or maybe brewed) beverages and was in essence a spoiler for the other attendants?  There was a contract with his signature that said he was not allowed to do so, so he's back in Europa now. (not much elan there,but it was his own fault)
