Just bought this bass and know nothing of its history.  Any info you can share on this gorgeous bass would be appreciated.

Hi,

Here's the details I found in the instrument file:

serial number: 03OW13000
model name: Orion
model number: OLB5
top: Coco Bolo #449
accent: Maple laminate and Purpleheart pinstripe
body: Mahogany
neck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: none
side markers: aluminum dots
pickups: MXY56
controls: "Signature" volume, pan, filter 2x, Q-switch x2, mono output
finish: Polyester gloss with satin neck feel
hardware: polished brass
originally made for: Guitar Resurrection, TX
birthday: April 18, 2003

Ooo this is cool! This is one where the top wood was documented before we built it. Click on the link in the spec list for the Coco Bolo and see what this wood looked like 6 months before we started building this bass.

Enjoy,
Mica

How cool is this?  THAKNS SO MUCH!  Can you tell me about the pickups/switches?  I am moving from a Fender Precision (74 Maple) to my new treasure?  I don't know how to adjust them.  Is there a stupid guide to how to begin?

Mac, although it's shown on a different body shape, here is a post on Signature electronics. http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=276.0

That's a pretty special bonus/upgrade for your Orion. Post us some pictures when you can.
