Two Great Years, and Counting; Thanks Again
« on: June 13, 2016, 07:04:47 AM »
As I'm coming up on two years here, just wanted to say Thanks Again, to all the members of this Board, and especially the staff at Alembic.

It was two years ago tomorrow I got my first Alembic, only to find all it's original electronics were gone. http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=601.0

Not long after that realization, club member fc_spoiler (the original do-it-yourself Alembic guy!) sent me here from another forum. After a short phone call with Mica, there was no second-guessing that a restoration was coming. Said she wanted my first Alembic experience to be a positive one, and it surely has been, starting with that phone call. Wasn't very long before plans for a fretless mate to my restored Persuader were made, and sure enough a year later the custom order was placed. (it's on the workbench now...  ;D ) In the meantime, a beautiful old Distillate came along, so in just under two years, mine has become a 3-Alembic stable. Each weekend I look forward to playing them out and about, the only hard part is deciding which one. (more often than not, it's both)

Hanging around here has broadened my understanding of why these things sound like they do, and why that's important, far beyond just plugging a bass into an amp and thinking "well okay, that sounds pretty good." Undeniably, that understanding has helped me grow as a musician. Now I can appreciate that a full spectrum of sound is available if you have an instrument capable of producing it.

You guys are the best! Carry on...

You go fast! :D It took me +/- 7 years to get my second Alembic and about ten years to commission my own dreambass from the elves.  :P  (counting from the first one I got in '98)

Great to have you here!  8)

I will echo that it's great to have you here! Especially since you are a fellow representative of the East Coast Alembic players. I began playing Alembics almost 5 years ago, and I'm hooked. It's always an inspiration to hit the stage playing what I consider to be the finest instruments available. It's also wonderful to be a part of this community.

Here's to many more years with Alembic for all of us.

Can't wait to see your new custom bass when it's done!

Excellent! I am celebrating one year with my first (and so far, only) Alembic. Also celebrating one year on this forum. While I don't post on here all that much, I am an avid reader, and the few times I've had a question, a response was quick at hand (including each time from Mica herself, which speaks volumes about how this fine company values customer service).
