Hi you all and blessed are thee,
after some time not playing Bonnie for several reasons I revisited her and was not very happy with her A behaviour.
As you all experienced colleagues-and friends-bass-players know the A string is ping the middle of a 5-string neck.
That A string always played me tricks!!!!!!!
BAD tricks!!!
When playing I constantly had this mid-frequency-sounding click when playing.
O-o-o-o-o ...I am NOT a string hitter ...!!!!
I consider the neck and strings of Bonnie as a woman's leg so caressing the string would be more appropriate.
Nevertheless ...there was this click.
I went mad!
Even angry!
But I ...on a sunny sunday morning I remembered the Brother Joey routine and THAT IT WASN'T ONLY ABOUT NECK AND BRIDGES BUT ALSO ABOUT ...THE NUT.
I just want to emphasize on the fact that when the string is 'clicking' ALL ALONG your neck ...it IS a NUT problem.
So ...I lifted the nut ...oh YES Brother Joey just a little at a time, not more each time than the section of the pubic hair of a mouse.
Just very slowly and ....step by step to just the moment that ...oh man ...oh lord ...oh Your Basship ...how it SOUNDED!!!!!!
No clicking, clecking or clacking!
Just the bass with Red-Devils string slide hiss!
I Am happy bassplayer!
So ...just watch your nuts outside there
(there IS something inside me that says that this is a VERY BAD expression ...mmmmmm)
