In times of joy, happiness, nice family meals and drinks and a 'bassy' Christmas present here and there it's also good to keep your eyes pointed at the world. Everybody must have heard that a disaster has struck Asia and even (3000 miles away!) the African continent. Currect estimates are 50,000 to 75,000 victims, millions of people homeless and it will certainly take years for countries to recover. Please send financial support, only what you can miss, the help of the entire global community is needed there...

I've been numb since first hearing of this. I can't begin to imagine what it's like even after reading some eye witness accounts. You are correct, they need help from whomever is able. At times like this there shouldn't be borders or theological differences, just people looking out for one another.

One Island of Maldives I visited earlier in March this year isn't anymore... it truly was a part of paradise. Unfortunately located at the east side of Rashdoo-Atoll the Tsunami hit this little place with unexpected enormous strength.
190 from 193 persons missing, three survivors were divers diving at the western coral reef at 65ft depth.

At once I've donated some bucks I saved for my own future Alembic project (I'm sorry Alembic!) to the MRC for supporting Maldivan natives.
Regardless that most of them are muslims or not (I only found very nice, kind and helpful people there) they need help now!

...my every morning walk to the bar, this is history...

It's scary to think of all thats happening around us,california is probably next on the big quake list, it worrys me because it's where my family lives and my kids.

We have been back from The Maldives for just over two weeks. We had an absolutely fantastic time on our chosen resort island, Baros. It was our sixth stay there.

On Boxing Day morning, I read the news at my computer and I sat here absolutely stunned. After six visits to a place, you get to know people and a lot of them, apart from having family in The Maldives, have family in India and in Sri Lanka too.

I e-mailed Baros as we have grown to know the Front Office Manager and he told us that they had been missed by this terrible event. That was a result in some ways but our thoughts still go out the people who have been directly affected. The Maldives is populated entirely by Sunni Muslims and they are surely the most friendly and peaceful nation on Earth.

I got home to no job, so I'm currently in the ranks of the unemployed. Not having any spare money to be donating at this point in time, I added-up my usual beer bill for a typical month, donated that this morning and promised myself I will have January off the beer. So no job, and no beer either! But at least I still have my house and I still have my family - which is an awful lot more than several million other people by the looks of it...

It's the perfect time to look through those clothes that don't fit and what have you and get them off to your local Red Cross donation center. Take an hour or two and see what you have that will be way more valuable to someone else than to you right now.

Hey,i'm putting on a show, of two bands and a dj friday week away to raise money for this freak of nature, it is such a bad thing to happen leaving all these people this way, i hope to raise about $1000.00 to go towards this appeal..... keep giving.

this show has now grown to be out doors withe seven bands, so it should be a great night, i will post some pics of it when its over, will also let you guys know how much money is raised..

The show we put on for the Tsunami victims was a huge success we raised a total of $4132 dollars which is a great thing!!!!!!! we had about four hundred people there, when we played our set we got half way through our first song and the power cut out, one of the power leads compleatly melted it was very rock n' roll!!!!! we then continued and finished our set if fine form.
